Please note that this webpage is geared toward street light enthusiasts who already have a basic understanding of the hobby such as lamp types, manufacturers, model numbers, etc. and that this site may be hard to follow if you do not have any prior understanding to street lights. These aren't your everyday household fixture where you can screw in any wattage bulb of any type into the socket and it will work. Street lights use internal transformers called ballasts that convert the line current and voltage to an aceptable level for a certain lamp type and wattage. Each wattage and lamp type has its own kind of ballast that will drive the lamp correctly. Certain ballasts will run more than one type of lamp correctly, but the lights here will not.
